One such milestone might be when they reach a certain point in their journey, or another could be when they stop for a certain amount of time. Sometimes this is to monitor a driver, while on other cases it might simply be to make sure that all operations are going to plan.

The fact that alerts can be set up means that companies no longer have to religiously check to see if their fleet is matching its expectations. They can program these alerts and be notified accordingly – and this is proving to be a monumental time saver.

Speed and location details

This final feature we will talk about again focusses on business and the beauty of commercial features for GPS devices. This time, it’s all about the likes of speed and location being checked by a central hub.

The speed factor is something that is understated by many. While some might view this as a nuisance, companies operate differently. They know that a vehicle traveling at a significantly higher speed than it should be is consuming a lot more fuel and ultimately, costing them money.

In terms of location information, having a historical backlog of data showing the timings of various routes is of paramount importance, and can again help them add to that elusive bottom line.
